Anu + Nav’s Wedding Reception at the Lakeshore Convention Centre

Wedding receptions are a blast, and Anu and Nav’s reception is one I will remember for years to come.

There was so much dancing (of all kinds)! Families dancing off; friends dancing off; the couple dancing off. There was so much fun, energy and talent on the dance floor that it was a joy to be there. Not to mention, it made for some wonderfully candid photographic moments.

Anu and Nav also had photos from their parents’ and siblings’ weddings printed and displayed at their reception. It was such a lovely and nostalgic touch.

Anu’s Haldi Ceremony in Ajax

Indian weddings are often multi-day affairs. There’s dancing, feasting, socializing and so many wonderful traditions to honour.

They’re epic and wonderful, and I love that they give family and friends so many opportunities to come together and celebrate. You can never spend enough time with your loved ones, and a wedding is even more special when you’re surrounded by the people you love.

Anu held her haldi ceremony at her parents’ home in Ajax. There was such a sense of community, love and connection in the air (not to mention lots of playful moments!). It was moving and heartwarming to see and photograph.

Anu’s Mehndi Party in Downtown Toronto

There’s something so freeing and captivating about dancing. It’s a wonderfully dynamic art form, and when translated into a still photograph, it takes on its own power and energy.

Indian weddings are full of dancing, which is one of the things I love best about them. It’s so much fun just being present and capturing all that joyous movement.
